Mercury Vapour Lamps:

A Spread Chart Summary

The characteristics of the beams of all the Mercury Vapour Lamps on test.

(excluding 'zoo' lamps)

The Spread Charts for all the mercury vapour lamps on test

All the Spread Charts for the mercury vapour lamps tested in the survey are shown here to the same scale.

It is not possible to make direct comparisons of the lamps, in terms of their ability to stimulate vitamin-D3 synthesis, because each lamp has a slightly different spectral power distribution (as explained in the introduction to the Lighting Survey).

However, these diagrams do give a clear indication of the characteristic shape of the beam produced by each lamp, and the extent of its coverage.

To see clearer, larger versions of individual charts, visit the page featuring the full report of that particular lamp:

Spread charts for the Osram Ultra-Vitalux and the ReptileUV Zoo Mega-Ray are featured within the report.
